Bluboo Dual real life review

This in life review written for Bluboo Dual. Thi is a smartphone from chana, built in daul camera and made with aluminium metal uni-body budget phone priced in around 100 USD from Aliexpress. Has no phsysical navigation buttons on bottom of screen, but some space left – maybe it was a plan for using touch navigation area as like others ? – and it may used to hold phone to watch something.

Whatever it is, this smartphone using on screen soft navi keys – maybe uncomfort for like me who doesn’t lile to using soft keys loosing whole screen resolution by displaying this useless shi* – I am really hate this soft key.

Something special features for good sales point may thoes of “”Dual lenses” and “Finger print scanner”. Finger print sensing speed was similar like to Xiaomi Redmi 3 or later series, quickly sensing my fingers like iPhone and Xiaomi Redmi3s of mine. Dual lenses meaning just a taste of DOF(Depth of field) – like DSLR out focused at point to anywhere on screen and picture.

But not recommended to feeling as real DSLR effect, just hardware leveled blurring effect. Not real DOF and qulity is coarsened.

But normal pictures from camera, it is certainly enhanced a little from previous Mediatek ISP. Dirty noises has enhanced to more detailed but still not enough feels like “IT IS AMAZING!”. Just worth for this price around 100 USD.

Dual lenses may good for feeling looks good as like ” I have dual ! like iPhone 7 plus!”, but not real iPhone 7 plus, swag. Positive side is fast sensing speed of my finger print, it is one of fastest device among I had that from China.

Ear speaker is best point of this budget one, voice hears with heavy bass, supports UMTS AMR (not sure VoLTE). But loud speaker hears like cheappy vinyl, don’t expect like iPhone.

Here is a simple conclusion.

Pros.

  • Cheap, may around 100 to 110 USD on market.
  • Bright&Sharp 1080p Full HD resolution at 5.5″ IPS LCD.
  • Dual Lens, DOF effect (w/ built in SLR camera app)
  • 3000 mAh battery holds a day for ordinary usage.
  • Slim metal uni-body.
  • Fast finger-print sensor.

Cons.

  • Fake dual standby SIM, one must be for GSM only with 3G/UMTS or LTE.
  • Useless in North America include almost of United states
  • No more update for air. Latest version marked as V3.06
  • Uncertified Google Apps. ( manufacturer Bluboo not registered to Google )
  • Not supports Quick Charge
  • SCweather : built-in malware

Depends on your flavor, yeah

  • Damn soft navigation key.
  • Useless bottom side wide bezel – what for ?
  • Built in 3000 mAh Battery.

bonus issue: How to remove SCweather ?

First, you can disable app in setting menu, or if you got TWRP and ready to flash, use my zip flashing script.

This zip flashable patch disables these system apps : (and disclaimer, all problems used my patch zip is up to your decision, before doing this flash, you must allow all problems not belong to me.)

Super★Talent Express NST1 128GB review

Super★Talent is a brand name sales USB mass storages and memory products in USA. NST1 128GB is one of their USB drive in middle price.

NST1 used Single channel TLC NAND flash with SMI controller, writes up to 90MB/sec, reading up to 120MB/sec in sequence.

Accessing random placed data – related in 4K – speed is better than MLC series of NST1 64GB. Light weight and easy to use, little tightly pull up and down case is may better than loose and easily lost case or cover.

Doogee Shoot 1 hands on

Doogee Shoot 1 is a budget smartphone among brothers of samely born from MT6737T. Brothers are came out each same shapes, Dual lenses with finger print sensor.

Here I writing some hands-on-review for checking package and until it boots up.

Package arrived,

It was arrived in a week with DHL shipping option from AliExpress. I have paid under 10 USD for this option and seller kindly serviced well. There’s some gifts: USB 5V2A single car cigar hole charger and short silver colored touch pen, fish bone shaped cable holder, small fabric piece to clean screen and some plugging rubbers.

Package box was made with Paper, like iPhone or its copycat – Sunshil Electronics, ha! Doogee saved useless spaces well – I loved this.

What’s inside ?

There’s one Shoot 1. It already applied screen protecting film and I can tear off thin printed outter film easily.  Let’s ignore it’s so familiar shape have seen before … Mmm …

Shoot 1 also kindly put wear protecting TPU jacket already. And under inside, there’s a SIM extracting pin, micro USB cable and 5V 2A travel charger with simple manual. It’s all of inside a box. Ah, one more protecting film inside.

Dual camera

Like other brothers, shoot 1 also designed to use dual lenses to make Depth of Focus(DOF) effect as like DSLR. There’s dual flahs also placed middle of lenses. But don’t expect real DOF not availed to this cheapy budget smartphone, It’s imitating effect. Don’t be deceived by their fake promotions. But each single shots and videos really improved than before.

Charging & USB port & Speakers ?

Shoot 1 is still used traditional micro USB port, and it is accepts 5V 2A charging. Unfortunately still most of Chinese manufacturer not ready to using quick charging solution as like Qualcomm’s. Bottom side looks has stereo spearks but don’t believe it, one side is blocked so no sounds from right side. It is imitation.

SIM tray

Doogee shoot 1 designed to use double slots in one tray. One micro SIM and one more micro SIM or micro SD card.

And …

Doogee shoot 1 is a budget phablet to buy in 100 to 110 USD. It has Full HD IPS LCD, dual lenses plus front selfie camera, extends up to 128GB micro SD card, well made body, moderated ARM CPU with MALi GPU for enjoying your economical life.

And this review will be continued to softwares.

Review of Ulefone Vienna.

Ulefone Vienna was placed in my demand-list to buy when its cost comes down under 130 USD. And it was able to buy in 120 USD in a month ago. It delivered me with DHL from China while only a week.

Vienna was designed to perfect experience to listening music with professional level DAC as manufacturer description with FHD resolution in 5.5″ IPS display – I expected more better than LG G3, and it is exactly matched for me.

Bundled clear TPU case helped me carrying for while, and easily clean out any stains. But back-butt placed speaker gave to me bad position to listening any sound and any others. But it could be accept by price because its loud level is much bigger than any other android budget phones.

Camera, it is like any others, little bit better, maybe. But it could not be expect excellent picture on evening to night, or dark places. Just a same like most of Chineses budget phones.

Fingerprint scanner works well, better than modern budget phones price around 100 USD. It could be sens my finger in any degree like iPhone or Xiaomi. But ratio of corretly works not much better than as I expected.

Hardware touching area is my one of loved feature, it may much better than any software navi. It will be better if it has illuminations like small LED lights on back side, but there’s nothing like my hopes.

One more special feature, left side a button is useful or an obstacle as who using this, I couldn’t find how it be turned off but works too well. I thought it will better if it has any bumps around button to press not so easily. But it will be pleased by using TPU case for protect pressing button so easily.

Software – OS was upgraded to 6.0 with OTA thru WiFi easily. I could upgrade OS and testing well, but many preinstalled apps are also like previous Ulefone models.

So I need replace recovery partition to adjusting my app conditions with TWRP and my customized zip files. Then, it works so perfectly. Much longer battery life and nothing to annoying.

Vienna became to lowest price in a year, It should be good choice to listening music without external amp for your ( or my ) headphones what has high resistance.

After a while, review of Doogee Y6.

Few monthes ago, I have trip to Vietnam with Emily for a week in Da Nang. It was impressed experience for me and lovely times for having past times of our country in my 40’s age. (sigh …)

I was planed to use Vietnam prepaid SIM cards for travel in 3G network of Vietnam. It was successfully worked in Da Nang in HSPA+ network and voice call also excellent for me.

Camera was just OK for day light, Not enough to took a scene in night, Everybody may not accept noisy and blurred picture. Dynamic range seems not much better than modern smartphones.

Here I took some pictures in Da Nang of Vietnam. All pictures just resized to 1024px in long side, and nothing else affected.

Difference of Bright area to Dark (shadow) side seems not flatten as like a centry ago. It just Ok for day light but not much good enough to take a shot in less lights – from evening to night. I was good for snap shot while traveling anywhere for searching google map and taking pictures in one hand.

Durability is verified for me by dropping solid bottom, actually it was not my fault, by some aunty smashed my hand in Lotte Mart in Hanoi (South from Da Nang, about a hour by van). It was smashed to bottom, side of screen exactly, I was really surprised and Phone gone for unstable to cannot detect external SD. Just I have reboot it and it became normal. Nothing broken or scratched, just my protecting film saved real glass. Everything was OK.

It was enough good for me. Need some work to disable many services apps. Some system UI not so good for recognized (specially system max memory indicating while app task screen by long press of home button) but it is not much bad for me by this smartphone price.

It could be recommended by looking for around 100 USD budget 5.5″ HD display with durable chasis. But I strongly recommend to user may possible to understand cusomized recovery and SP-Flash program to flash some customizes.

A short impressions of Kinera BD005 IEM.

It was really extreamely long long wait after an order from November of 2016. Yes, It took about 2 monthes from order while package arrived to me with AliExpress standard shipping method – but actually it was China Registered AIR post, maybe it was not AIR … maybe a SHIP ?

With damn long shipping it is eventually now on my hand. It was really damn slow shipping but I can accept all with extreamely low cost (see above page … ) of this 1-DD + 1-BA IEM.

Packaging

I don’t know what brand name means “KINERA” to their word, or in English. And BD005 – model name – may means their 5th model with BA+DD. Ok, then it arrived as below picture:

Boxing was not as like modern saving Earth design, just contains IEM and only 2 different size of silicon ear birds with wrong attached (switched Left and Right, sure it should be fixed anybody, actually not a problem !) durable cable.

It is really all. There’s nothing like protecting IEM something like called soft case or pouch. Just consider price around 20 USD ! and It doesn’t a matter to enjoying good music ! Don’t be concern like Mr.Ban. It’s just another option to buy any carrying case, or pouch whatever it is in AliExpress and may quickly arrives than this IEM.

Mr.Concen Man, Image from “Reuters”

Appearance

BD005 is not had sexy shape as like major brand products. Just it says “I am from China” and it is truth, because I bought from China, Ha.

But comfort to fix on my ear and easily replace to other cable with MMCX connector. Many sellers in AliExpress who selling many different kinds of MMCX compatible cables. Kinera seems to used one of their products – because I have bought exactly same model MMCX cable from AliExpress before, and its price was almost 8 USD.

Fitting rules is just same like other IEMs, rounding around my ear. Almost of modern ear rounding fittabled IEMs are samely using this forms. MMCX connector well assembled in IEM itself. I couldn’t find any problem in this small friend.

BA unit (as their explainment, it is from Knowles, 3K models) is placed on near end of nozel and it recognized by sight easily. There’s no structure to hold ear bud as like some IEMs.

Audio experience

Make a subject of conclusion, it is not like other some fully filled bass brother Hybrid IEMs. Well balanced for each sides. Little bit more bass means it is “For Outdoor” but may excellent for using in door too. As my opinion there’s little bit less in high frequency by private favor, it should  be enhanced by adjusting EQ. I recommend use Treble boot if you have iPhone and listen music with shiny treble frequency – but it may a reason of you going be tired more faster than normal listening, it’s just up to you and me also.

Conclusion

Maybe really worth the low cost in around 20 USD. Much better than Xiaomi’s hybrid IEMs – actually not recommend Xiaomi’s, too much bass harms all sound – and KZ’s. Without design, all about good features may found by in real life, by yourself. Maybe the best item in this price around 20 USD in the World if you have buy something new in less payment but long wait.

Oukitel U20 Pro real review for weeks

Prologue:

It was second time to wait pre-sell item for new item from Ali-express. This wait required long wait for a month even I have made an option to shipping with DHL.

My Interesting was “Dual lens”:

It was special to me by this budget smartphone had dual lens as seen for iPhone7+. Oukitel described hardware level dual lens may help to shoot a picture that similar like DSLR, wow.

I was expected this dual lens really works like my DSLR/DSLT by stereo graphic differential algorithm likes, but reality was so harsh. too harsh.

Here I left a balnk for later, inserting some pictures with dual lens, that dual lens results. harsh results.

Blur defection on bottom screen,

It was not a problem of only mine. Many people also reported this defection to XDA, and geeks found how it be fixed with rooted system, not for normies, damn.

It was a reason of UI rendering with wrong start position of state bar. -5 pixels rolled up so bottom blur defection occurs by -5 pixels of gone up.

No update.

I have been expected when it released new OTA for fix UI rendering problem, but still it doesn’t possible to check latest version.

Lastest version is “SSXSJS5.1210.V3.0.3”. But still this version not solved bottom screen defection, and there’s not many TWRP or CWM recovery with working touch sensor.

Much looks like Apple iPhone 6s, but not iPhone, has too many problems still not be fixed yet, Oukitel seems to still not good a company who mades smartphone in lowest price.

Maybe don’t be comapred with Doogee Shoot1 or Bluboo Dual.

Next is,

Blueboo dual. a much same smartphone with Oukitel U20 plus, without hardware navi keys. And Doogee Shoot 1. All phones are same CPU and similar camera module as like dual focusing system for making depth of aperture.

My little conclusion,

Don’t buy this junk until solve many problems. You may better buy this after a half of year.

Eventually, Oukitel U20 Pro placed my hand.

Took about over a month in long patient to it arrived to me even I ordered with DHL shipping option because it seems to seller (or Oukitel) not stocked this new budget device.

Anyway, DHL delivered in only 3 days from HongKong – it was really fastest experience ever – and now I have it.

Package and bundles

Todays most of Chinese smartphone manufacturer not gives any headphone to customer as bundled. Oukitel U20 Pro also not provides them.

U20 really seems to have too diet, the cost reduction made it seems to empty, Cheappy mico-USB cable, junk 5V-1A USB charger, SIM tray exporting pin (as like iPhone series) and small manual book are all in one box. and I have sealed most of these to box again.

Fortunately U20 already covered with transparency TPU case with bubbled screen protect film. I was need to remove dust in bubble with sticky tapes and glued again.

Little lacks made me some more double checked but everything was acceptable for price – I paid this for only 88.99 USD ( + 10.52 USD for DHL ).

First working test without any picture

Sorry about no picture, but I will this review again with pictures soon.

About display: FHD 5.5″ IPS has little bit shadow in bottom side as like most of budget phones from China. It was little bit hard to understand in first time, but it becomes comfort now. Little forget makes me comforted, wow. But it really not matter because screen bright is so good. Some bottom sided shadows or spots could be ignored.

Responsibility: I couldn’t believe MT6737T feels so fast in 1.5GHz speed. Default launcher was fully cusomized as like MIUI (no app drawer) and theme switchabled with fastest touching experience – Similar like Vernee Thor.

Dual camera: U20 Pro has different camera UI because dual lens but I couldn’t check how it works. I found “SLR” mode but it is not acceptable as like iPhone7. Single picture quality was amazing – Maybe it is bestest camera quality among my testing smartphones from China.

And more: It was just testing for defection check, so there’s no detailed review not yet. I will continue to write a detailed review with good pictures.

Maybe U20 becomes best budget phone under 100 USD in the world…

About Charger:

You may need prepare what your standard in you living. Doogee Y6 provides EU standard 220V plug for bundle. I couldn’t check US 110V type also selective or not.

Stock Design:

I bought black color for my favored inclination, and it lovely well made in first catch. Black and rounded front screen glass feels solid and sleek. There’s a circle and two dots on bottom of screen, and it works touchable naviation hardware keys – works in left order, menu, home and back.

Little lacks of many, there is no LED back light in navi-key buttons. Actually I love these feature but someone dosen’t. But I love to no any lights in navi-key – sometimes in dark, any lights except main screen interrupts my focus.

Upper side of front screen  placed front camera and face-beauty-LED and speaker. It may take picture myself in brightly if I want – but I don’t do that, hugh.

At the bottom side, there’s two stereo holes and a micro USB port in middle. Maybe much looks like iPhone – but it must be an illusion, maybe ! Each navi-keys and home touching screen has not illuminated, but it never possible to make them to this price, just forget it.

Bottom speakers (or single) seems stereo, but actually sound hears on only right side for test, maybe left side is fake holes. There’s a small microphone hole on just left side of micro USB port. I love this bottom sided speark holes to listen anything to put on flat palce. It dosen’t disturbes my listening experience at all.

At the back, there’s single 16Mpixel(real 13Mpixel) F2.0 small camera and fast detecting finger print sensor. By my test, this finger print sensor detects my finger in fast if put in right position. Not much comfort than my iPhone 6s and Xiaomi Redmi3s, much better than Vernee Thor, similar (or same) with Doogee F5.

At the left, there’s SIM slot as like most of modern smartphones that dosen’t detachabled internal battery. It is just same as like Xiaomi and Ulefone.

To open SIM slot, just use bundle SIM extracting pin to put in a hole and push it. Then it will pulled a little out and it could be fully pulled out with finger or hold in SIM extracting tool.

SIM tray not seperated each other for replacing SIM or sdcard. It changes in once with single way as like above picture. A micro-SIM and nano-SIM or micro sdcard, little bit narrowed option for deal with one more SIM or sdcard to extend my storage.

My chosen was one micro-SIM and extending storage to 64GB with MLC micro sdcard.

I could extend all internal memory with 64GB sdcard to format it as android-fs(file system), and there’s a little warning it is too slow even it works over 22MB/sec on UHS-1 standard. And my benchmark scored about under 10MB/sec on this phone with A1 sdcard bench. Little bit nonsense – because I couldn’t feel slow down while using phone while installing and running app with this sdcard.

Android 6 performance

I have tested with these two apps, GeekBench4 and Vallemo for real computing power and web browsing. And used CPU-X app for checking device information.

CPU-X informations:

There’s magnetic sensor with GPS, it may improves detecting which side headed when I have find way to go or driving a car.

Here’s GeekBench4 results:

Simple benchmarked scores similar to Snapdragon 415 or little slightly better. It is exactly almost same performance with MT6753 even assert GPU improved than before, by manufacturer.

And here’s Vallemo results:

Score of 8 cores at MT6750 seems to good performance in benchmark, but my opinion is not for real life because android apps are not runs on over 2 multi cores as I know. It must be multiple apps on running in backgroud may improves performance than less cores. That’s all.

Conclusion:

Totally it is not slow device than fastest devices, comfort to use in low price but well made, not so weak as like one drop one death. Most of casual games on Google App Strore could be play with no lacks of frame rates. It’s enoigh to just install and play most of games and little bit heavy apps. I am enjoying multiple video downloads on UCBrowser or ZetaTo**ent app with built in browser about 6 to 8 threads. And it going little bit heated by high CPU loading but it’s OK. Not much like LG G3’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 80* series.

Over 3000mAh battery extended real using time. I could read many articles whole a day of last weekend on internet, and it ran out to almost 30% until midnight while back to bed.

Camera is just moderated to shoot a picture while day light, no lights makes useless picture, just OK for record your life on internet as like facebook. But don’t expect as like good camera.

Loud speaker on the bottom, it maybe so far from sounds like iPhone. Don’t expect to listening music with bass, it’s missed out. But it much good listening my lover’s voice while talking on phone call, fortunately doogee not made to waste device by phone call. Voice speaker is just good for hear good voice.

And, charging speed not checked (sorry about, it will be next time) for how many current loads while charging. It will be continued to next article, but guess it could loads under 2A at maximum charging because doogee bundled 5V 2A charger.

Topping NX2 USB DAC & AMP review

img_20161107_204812-01

The brand name of “Topping” was not familiar for me, so I have to anguished buy it or not in about 100 times. Then I have to trip again, to mistic big land in Asia, yeah.

It took about a month while arrive package to me. Seller seems to really lazy in most of Chinese seller. Whatever it’s bee past for me, tried to having experience of this small thinny device.

img_20161108_123711-01

Features

  • TI PCM2704 (Blurr-Brown) Chipset.
  • 1000mAh Li-Ion internal battery, charges at 5V 2A in maximum.
  • Maximum 100 hours running time.
  • Seperated input ports : Charge and USB/OTG in micro USB (it seems to revisioned)
  • Volume control wheel (not knob)
  • Slim height

It was hard to decide before buy this one because back pannel USB ports seems legacy USB port, and it makes many different kind of issues. But my latest version NX2 was improved as micro USB port.

img_20161107_204951-01

Both of these ports could be used in same time. NX2 automatically selecting which port be used in charge battery. USB DAC port means OTG for some Android phones. Not all devices was not worked with this DAC.

hwinfo_usb_dac

USB DAC works as USB 1.1 and output as maximum 16bit 48KHz (DVD quality in Windows) – Most of USB 1.1 device limited to bandwidth for 16bit 48KHz output. USB 2.0 handles SPD-IF for 24bit 96KHz.

It seems just an optional service function to enjoying music in anywhere even has no sound device in system or very noisy bad situation.

Sound quality

I have compared with FiiO E07K and Zhilai devices and it may not faired comparsion because it is not similar level of price and performance.

img_20161108_123814-01

Topping NX2 has little bit cold sound in hearing with same IEM. I can not judge it is good or not, it was not better than FiiO E07K as both of DAC and AMP.

But as perfect portable AMP and DAC, maybe NX2 is the best among of mine, slim metal body is good to carry and volume wheel control gave to me more comfort experience.

Some missed features

  • Gain control
  • Bass control

Some features not able to find. NX2 has no gain control, fixed to high gain, and it may about 10~12 dB. And no bass equlizer, it means some high impedence headphone need more bass from ouput source with internal equalizer, but most of smartphone has this.

Compare with FiiO Q01, it is little bit more lower price, and more comfort to handle it, but not more nice audio quality. It is totally depends on price at audio quality, but I like to use NX2 than FiiO Q01 beacuase suitable combine with any smartphone by flat and slim shape. And Q01 volume knob make me sometimes to hurt my other devices in my carrying bag.

Topping NX2 is much comfort utility deivce for listening more powerful music from your any source even PC and laptop to smartphones. Recommend for HiFi beginer or lone music wolves.
